Full release with full support is imminent. More good news: The VLC libraries are now Apple Silicon native so DJ and Scheduler can be completely native on both hardware as Universal builds. Good news on the M1 front: I have Intel builds playing without any issues now so that will be in the 2021.1.1 release, now beta.

I have all other cosmetic/functional issues ready if someone needs it and is okay without the stream receive. I'm investigating things I can do while we wait. Even under Rosetta (Intel binary running in emulation), stream receive mostly doesn't work. However, we wait for the stream receive libraries to become native that Radiologik DJ uses before I can release with support for M1 Macs. Resizing the main windows are perfectly fluid compared to on Intel for example. I will be strongly recommending M1 Macs eventually. So, if you did make the jump to the M1 and experience audio glitches on transitions and don't mind the missing Stream Receive and a few cosmetic issues, let me know and i'll get you an ARM build of DJ. We have to wait for the VLC libraries for macOS ARM. But there are still a few things keeping this from a beta release such as not having Stream Receiving working. I just got both DJ and Scheduler running ARM native today. This is solved when Radiologik is compiled for Apple Silicon (ARM). Unfortunately with DJ running on Rosetta 2 on M1 Macs I have audio glitches on the transitions. Kernel extensions are not allowed without making a change in Recovery mode which Rogue Amoeba details. The installation is more involved due to more security again in Big Sur.

Rogue Amoeba software Loopback and Audio HiJack are being worked on and have betas. I don't know if Soundflower will work yet. Although everything appears to be functioning fine with Radiologik through Rosetta with testing incomplete still, I discovered it is still a bit early for other software that you may need for your station, particularly for audio routing. I think it will be fast because Apple has made it easy. I hope to have Universal builds to support the M1 natively going forward but this depends a lot on the how quickly the dependent libraries start supporting the M1 which I don't have control over. I expect Radiologik will run fine in Rosetta 2 on these new Macs. Let me know if you find any issues.Īs for the M1-based Macs. Of course I will be fully supporting Big Sur.

As with previous OS updates, Radiologik gains no functionality from the OS update so it is recommended to take a conservative approach and hold back if you consider your station important. Through the betas of Big Sur I already made adjustments to Radiologik that were mostly cosmetic/interface display fixes. And this release still works all the way back to Yosemite 10.10.
